St. John Ambulance - Standard First Aid for Industry with CPR-C

This 2-day certification course has been developed from the St. John Ambulance First on the Scene program.
Day 1 meets first aid requirements for (1) WorkSafe BC OFA-1 (2) Canada Labour Code Basic First Aid. If the Alberta Endorsement is taught, this course will also meet requirements for (3) Alberta OH & S Emergency First Aid.
Day 2 meets first aid requirements for (4) Canada Labour Code Standard FA (5) Corrections Canada (6) Emergency First Aid Child and Adult Care Facilities (7) Marine Advanced First Aid.

Day 1 Course Content: (8:00 hrs including breaks)

Emergency Scene Management
Shock, Unconsciousness & Fainting
Artificial Respiration - Adult
Choking - Adult
CPR - Adult
Severe Bleeding
Minor Wound Care & Documentation
Medical Conditions
Alberta Endorsement (optional)

Day 2 Course Content: (8:00 hrs including breaks)

Artificial Respiration - Child & Infant
Child and Infant Resuscitation
Two Rescuer Adult CPR
Secondary Survey
Bone and Joint Injuries
Head, Spinal and Pelvic Injuries
Chest Injuries
Rescue Carries
Eye Injuries - review only
Burns - review only
Poisons, Bites and Stings
Heat and Cold Injuries
Dental Emergencies

Certification: SFASO certificate valid for 2 years. Certificate will list lessons: 1-9, 11-14, 17-21, 23
FOTS Standard certificate valid for 3 years issued on request. Certificate will list lessons: 1-9,11-14, 17-21, 23. CPR-C certificate valid for 3 years
Pre-requisites: Participants must be 16 yrs of age or older Be physically able to perform required skills. Complete pre-reading prior to class.
